Sheremetyevo and China Southern Airlines started a new route Moscow — Shenzhen

On September 28, 2017, 21:45 MSK, the Sheremetyevo International Airport grandly accepted the first flight of the China Southern Airlines from Shenzhen (PRC).

Passengers of regular flights will be served at the Terminal D. China Southern Airlines plans to carry out flights twice a week Mondays and Thursdays (according to the Summer Flight Schedule, the arrival is at 21.45 MSK, the departure is at 23.30 MSK; according to the Winter Flight Schedule, the arrival is at 19:30 MSK, the departure is at 21:25 MSK) on А330 — 300 jumbo jets in configuration with 275 seats. China Southern Airlines offer 3 classes of service on board — the first class, business and economy classes.

Nowadays Sheremetyevo is the only European airport that serves seven leading Chinese airlines and occupies the first place in transferring between China and Europe in the world. Thus, in eight months the connecting traffic from China to Europe through Sheremetyevo has increased by 32% and now accounts for averagely 1,200 passengers each way per day.

As per results of January — August 2017, the Sheremetyevo Airport has served 1 mln 373 ths. passengers in the Chinese destinations which is 19.4% more than the same period of the previous year. In particular, the traffic in China Southern destinations from Sheremetyevo to Guangzhou, Lanzhou, Wuhan and Urumqi has increased by 50.4%. The airline has transported more than 127 thousand passengers.

The airline decided to start a direct regular flight with reference of the passenger flow which is increasing every year, including connecting passengers flying from the Southern part of China to Russia.

The China Southern Airlines started operating in Shenzhen in 1991. In 2016 the number of connecting passengers of the China Southern Airlines in the Shenzhen Airport accounted for 9.79 mln people, then it reached 5.19 mln people as early as in the first part of the year 2017, and, according to the forecast for 2017, the number of connecting passengers will exceed 10 mln people.
